As we gradually restart the economy and take the first steps to recover from the effects of COVID-19, the Government of Canada continues to work with the provinces and territories to ensure that Canadians remain safe and healthy and receive the help they need in these challenging times. As part of this agreement, our government will regularly share procurement and testing data with the Canadian government to ensure that all levels of government coordinate their efforts to contain the virus. To contribute to the Pan-Canadian Data Management Framework, it is envisaged to increase its focus and assist it in developing and/or modernizing public health data management systems in the provinces. With this agreement, the federal government is contributing $2 billion to help Canadian municipalities with COVID-10 operating costs. Canadians receiving long-term care, home care and palliative care have an increased risk of more severe cases of COVID-19. As the economy re-develops, it is important to continue to protect and support older people and to provide health and social support to other vulnerable groups. This investment will help, through the Safe Restart Agreement, address key priorities agreed to by Canada`s premiers for a safe restart of the Canadian economy over the next six to eight months. .
